No. Just no. I know the basics of programming. I understand how databases work. I know how servers function. Having to pay a subscription fee to make a name change, and not being able to reclaim a previously used one (example: my "humanbeldot" photography account), is weird. Unless dA is using some sort of bizarre database no one's ever seen, generally you would only have to update the database, even if it can only be done manually.

Saying it's for "technical" reasons is treating the users like they can't understand basic computing.

Can you they least tell us whether it's related to the database of millions of users or programming or something?

Elsewhere on the 'Net, I am known as "humanbeldot", though many of the places where I had accounts, such as YouTube and FanFiction.Net, are no longer active. I am also the author of Without Crisis: Final Fantasy VII.

Here, you will find primarily traditional pieces using graphite pencils of varying hardness. Tools I use to fine-tune the pieces include paper stumps, soft rubber erasers, and kneaded rubber erasers. Cleanup of erasure lines, smudges, worn spots, etc. is done in Photoshop CS2. Colored work is either Prismacolor pencils and/or markers or hand-drawn artwork colored in Photoshop.

My fan-fiction specialty is the "What If", ranging from single-chapter asides to multi-chapter near-epics. You can find a couple examples in my gallery.

I was once told I can pair two random objects together and make it work.
