Volume ELEVEN of a collection of square-format artwork, featured by colours that complement each other.
Artist's CommentsYep, my Daxter PSP poster I've been talking about for forever is finally here! *huggles it* Squee! From left to right: Taryn: *bangs head on desk* She turned out the worst, I think. Her skin isn't dark enough, and her hairstyle is WAAAAAAY off... Of course, the only reference I had was a low-quality, tiny piccie that might as well have been ant-sized... However, I love how her hair color turned out, and her clothing. I used a white pencil on her hair, too, when it got too dark! *points* Erol: Couldn't resist... I just HAD to put him in there! I used an orange base instead of a poppy red one, and what a difference! I used poppy red on top, and in real life, his hair actually looks like a flame. It looks so awesome... And his cocky expression is perfect... what? IT EEZ! Daxter!!!!!: Daxter turned out the best of all. Instead of using yellow or orange for his fur color's base, I used Spanish Orange, and it turned out beautifully. I love how th shading is smooth and actually looks realistic (although it probably looks bettah in real life). Nearly forgot his arm stripes. Grrrrr... Veger: My first time drawing Veger and he actually turned out okay. What do you think? I used two shades of brown marker and a white pencil on his hair... wonderful. Anybody want to try to find Tik? I dare you, seriously. He's kind of hard to find at first, so you have to know where to look. Precursor lettering: Go find a pic of the alphabet and translate it. Note that the pipe it's on goes right behind Erol. When you figure it out, you MIGHT get a giggle out of it... it's kinda stupid though, so you might not get it. Anyway, tell me what you think! I adore long comments, hint hint. |

Try to work on human faces, because the two persons on the left have their faces a little bit too large, but their expressions are very well made. Also I would recommend you to low a little bit the ear on Erol, remember that human -or elf may be in this case- ears should be between the lower part of the eye and the upper part of the mouth.
The coloring looks fine, but I would recommend you to use a piece of cotton to "soften" your pencil colored parts, it will give your drawing a nicer look.
For the two characters left I've nothing to point at, they both look very good, especially Daxter, I really liked its [O.o] expression.

Great job on the positioning. Having the main character in the center, and the supporting characters fan out from that is always a good set-up and never fails.
You've tied in the title and backgrounds very well too. The bugs and pipes and leaves all work very well with the composition as well as keeping with the theme of the game. It's not too boring, yet at the same time it's not overpowering the focus points of the picture.
As far as the characters go, I know what you mean when you say "when they face to the left, they usually turn out real wonky". I have the same exact problem! Except it's hard for me to do faces facing to the right; maybe it's because I'm right-handed and drawing people facing to the left just seems a little more natural. But practice makes perfect right!
Daxter came out AWESOME in my opinion! I love the way you blended the oranges!
Veger is great too. The shading is very nicely done.
Taryn... hm... there's just something about her that I can't really put my finger on. Her positioning is good, but the pose looks a little off, either that or she looks a little cut off by the logo. Gah! Nevermind! I'm being picky now! But kudos for the hair! I really like how that came out.
And finally, Erol (gotta save the best for last right?). Is he shirtless?

Carter: "Um...Sir?"
