And now for my monthly rant.
I have been perusing the Jak and Daxter section of FF.Net, more out of curiousity than "fan"-osity (seeing as I am an avid, maybe even obsessive, member of the Halo Nation). Why are there so many badfics portraying Jak's two years in prison, and going on and on about the bad things that happened? IT'S BEEN OVERDONE, peoples. Come up with something new. At least when I was writing for the fandom, I skipped those two years entirely and focused on the results. In my canon, Jak's soul was partially taken over by an evil supernatural being trying to twist what good was left in Reising through the many victims of the DWP. Therefore, Jak had facets I haven't seen explored, never mind MENTIONED, anywhere else. Um, yeah, that's about as unique as it gets.
The fandom is... well, dead. Hate to say it, but it's true. The great writers have moved on and the newcomers have taken over. Stop beating a dead horse.
On a more pleasant note, I no longer have writer's block. I had an idea about taking key scenes in the first three Star Wars episodes and rewriting them by just very slightly tweaking dialogue and personalities to show that even the slightest change can make a huge difference (Star Wars fans, you all know what I mean. The prequels just didn't have that SW spark).
My uncle has an Xbox, he let me have it since he NEVER used it, and now I'm a Xbox fan too. That thing was built like a freakin' tank - play for six hours straight and it hardly makes a squeak. Haha. It also came with two controllers and a BRAND NEW copy of Halo, so I play cooperative more often than single-player in the campaign. Later, I found the Halo 2 Legendary Edition at a pawn shop for twelve bucks and played it through in THREE DAYS via about SIX HOURS each day. Then I got KOTOR I and played it through in about twenty hours (well, I didn't FINISH... I got so frustrated I started a new game that followed the KOTOR canon). The Star Forge level SUCKS because things RESPAWN too fast!
Yup. So until the PS3 matches the Xbox 360 in terms of price, well... nope, not buying it. Literally. For the time being, I am far more interested in games like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Tomb Raider Underworld, and so on, rather than Blu-ray. Too expensive. Although I love inFamous. A lot. A lot a lot.
